Outreach Team

“Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon” ~ Isaiah 58:10

The Outreach Team at Family of Christ is staying active and keeping busy doing a variety of projects! Thank you for serving alongside our ministry and sharing God's love with our community.
Current Outreach Projects

Snack Pack Drive: We will be collecting Snack Pack items for Tri-Lakes Cares for the coming school year on August 22 and 29. Please bring individual serving snacks to be provided to the D-38 kiddos who are currently receiving free or reduced cost lunches. Snack items such as goldfish, peanut butter crackers, fruit snacks, applesauce, mac & cheese, granola bars, etc. are needed!

Gifts from the Heart -
We're calling all crafters to a ministry that serves both those in our broad community as well as those within our church community throughout the year! Make and give a wide range of gifts. Do you enjoy sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking, cooking, and/or sending greeting cards? Do you have fabric or yarn to donate? To learn more about joining the wonderful Gifts from the Heart ministry, we invite you to reach out to Linda Thede - or 719.659.7342.

Ronald McDonald House - Are you passionate about food and serving the community? You can cook OR order take-out and deliver to the Ronald McDonald House (RMH). This is a great LifeGroup activity! RMH is now allowing 3 people to cook, 3 days per week. Food can be ordered and delivered any day of the week for those families staying at RMH. Contact Marlene Schulze -  for an available date!

Cards for Seniors - Join in helping write encouraging notes to the residents at Jackson Creek and Bethsesda Senior Living. Contact Zeda Thomas - or Marlene Schulze if you can help - .

Seasons of Support - Each quarter/season we will be designating a specific food item for you to donate for Tri-Lakes Cares, which will be chosen based on their current need. Sunday, September 12, is our nextSeasons of Support food drive! We’ll let you know the food item(s) as the date gets closer!

Serving And Loving Teachers (SALT) Ministry

This is a great ministry developed in partnership with Amy Campbell to support the teachers and eventually the parents of FOC’s Child Development Center. It has been a long, difficult year for our teachers and this ministry is focused on offering much needed support.

August 12-13 are CDC Work Days, and our teachers could use some help!
Thanks to Jane Jenik’s LifeGroup for volunteering to provide lunch for everyone on Thursday, August 12!
August 15 is the CDC Teacher Installation at FOC, and we are planning a brief reception for the teachers immediately following the 11 AM service. We would love to have you join us for cake between church and the Back to Church Bash! We’re also looking for a little help with the reception, so reach out if you can lend a hand.

If you’re interested in either of these great opportunities to serve and love our amazing Teachers at the FOC CDC, please reach out to Julie Curtiss - .

SALT July Thank You: We are so thankful for the fantastic team of people who helped provide weekly lunches to our CDC teachers as part of the SALT Ministry. A special shout out to Sarah George, Marlene Schulze, Susan Johnson, Wanda Moore, Kathy Latzke, and Julie Curtiss. Thank you for showing our teachers so much love and appreciation!

Outreach Appreciation:
Thank You for Putting Your Faith in Action!

A BIG thank you to everyone who participated in all the June outreach activities hosted by FOC – it was one busy month!

Backpack Drive: All who brought backpacks and supplies for Lutheran Family Services - Rocky Mountains. These backpacks will be delivered to kiddos (Pre-K to High School) in need throughout the Tri-Lakes area.

Gifts from the Heart: Linda Thede used her talents to make a baby gift for one of the CDC teachers - who is a first-time mom! She also made 10 fidget blankets for the veterans at the VA nursing home in Pueblo.

Please contact either Julie Curtiss -  or NancyJo Houk -  if you know of a need we might be able to help with.
